“It is told as a fairy tale now.” Dimitri continues, looking up at the First King as the three cloaked figures hold out a crown of pine and berries. “The First King is nameless, of course, but the stories go that he used his blood and very breath to make a pact with the land itself that, in turn, gave the king formidable power.”
Dimitri’s gaze drifts down, even as he catches the sight of Felix taking a small glass of vodka from a table. “The king and the land are therefore tied together, for so long as the pact is upheld and the king serves the land faithfully.”
“I see.” Seteth rubs at his goatee as he makes a low hum. “And what happens if the pact is broken?”
“The king will die.”(Taking the crown of Faerghus has some unforeseen results.)
