Summary
After going through all timelines and all possibilities, Viktor knew the only outcome that had Jayce in his life was this.
With the anomaly that time travel included, Viktor thought that he went through every possible outcome. He was sure of it. The data that he ran over the years, he made sure to check it through not once, but multitudes of times through millions of timelines and it all lead to this. It led to Jayce and him holding each other, forehead to forehead in their last moments together... At least that's what Viktor though.
He never expected to awake again, this time in a new timeline. One he's not seen before. One that wasn't a sequence of outcomes.

He rushed forward to pull Viktor into a hug.
“I’m sorry,” Jayce whispered, his voice muffled against Viktor’s shoulder. He held him close, arms tightening around him to anchor them together - fearing he’d lose him again as soon as he’d let go. “I’m so sorry. For everything.”
Viktor remained still in his hold, though he was not stiff or distant - merely untroubled. Slowly, he lifted a hand and placed it gently on Jayce’s back.
“You need not apologize,” Viktor assured him. “The fault lay within me. My obsession. My desperation.”
“I shouldn’t have let you leave ,” Jayce’s voice broke slightly, his grip tightening instinctively. “Shouldn’t have let you do this alone. If only I had been there–”After destroying the anomaly, Jayce and Viktor find themselves trapped in a space between realms. With seemingly all the time in the world, the opportunity to confront their feelings finally presents itself.
