Summary
He studies Itachi’s face. His son’s eyes dart around the room; flickers past the fridge, the cupboards, the window, unable to focus. His pupils are dilated, his eyelids heavy. Those eyes lock with Fugaku’s as they finally close, sharingan still active. Itachi twitches, draws a final deep rustling breath, before his whole body goes limp.
The silence returns. Fugaku lets go of Itachi’s wrists. He lets out a sigh, rubs at his own temples with the base of his palms. His head is pounding. The night has only just begun and he’s exhausted. He closes his eyes, allows himself to rest for a little while before he stands and gets to work.
AU. The Uchiha realize the truth of Itachi’s allegiances and decide to launch the coup earlier than originally planned. Nine years later a lot has changed. The story will mainly focus on the family relationship between Itachi, Sasuke and their parents ( Naruto).

Summary
Itachi survives his battle with Sasuke courtesy of Madara, and is left with his eyes freshly torn out on the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf. Still alive, Itachi is brought to the prison cells of Konoha where everything he has fought to hide is lain bare before him. Canon-divergence.
"And if someday Kakashi, while donning the robes of the Hokage, vibrant patterns of red rippling from the cheers of a nation fresh out of war and victorious, thinks about the blood splattered on prison floors and the empty sockets where a pair of history's most formidable and most loyal Sharingan eyes once blazed, nobody needs to know."

Summary
“One of you will be the Hokage after me,” the Sandaime says. His pipe lies smoking in an ashtray on the desk before him. “And the other will be the pillar who supports him.” This is not friendly supposition as to the future. This is a decree.
Itachi thinks of his brother and his parents and his clan, he thinks of a best friend who disappeared in the night and left corpses and his oaths behind, he thinks of a village at peace instead of haunted by the shadows of war, and says, “Hai.”
But Kakashi says, “With respect, I would rather not, Hokage-sama.”
To which the Sandaime says, “And if I make it an order?”
Kakashi’s face is perfectly bland. “No,” he says.
The Sandaime makes it an order.

There's something about this girl, like looking in a funhouse mirror a third of his size. “Oi, kid,” Toji says. “It’s you, isn’t it?”
The girl glares daggers at him from behind a pair of red-rimmed glasses too big for her tiny face. She’s looking at him like he’s totally crazy, which isn’t entirely untrue. “Huh? Who the heck are you?”
In lieu of answering, he asks, “What’s your name?”
The girl scowls. “Maki.”
“Maki,” he repeats, and it’s like a missing piece of his soul falls back into place. The record of his life before he fought the Six-Eyes brat is a long, impossibly white scroll of nothing -- but written on it in faint letters is the name of a child, a child with a delicate name that brushed the heavens, spun a prayer into letters; a name that began with an M, and it ended in i, too.
“Maki,” he says again. “I think you’re my daughter.”
