Tony had never realized that Peter thought of him like a dad. If the kid thinks of him as a dad, then it means he’s going to have to take it upon himself to start setting a better example and acting like one.
OR
Now that they’re back, Tony expects the Rogues to try to pull him into a meeting, or some kind of team meal instead of letting him escape to his lab. What he doesn’t expect is to walk into the common living area after not seeing them for two years and be greeted by Steve with, “We met your son.”
Tony freezes. What? What is Cap talking about? His eyes travel around the group. They’re all watching him, trying to gauge his reaction. “My son?”
“Peter.”
“Right. Pete.” They think Peter is his kid? What had given them that idea?!
“Why do you look surprised?” Nat asks. This is so not how he had envisioned this whole reunion conversation going.

Trudging home to his hidey-hole through snow and slush, shoes soaked through, hands cold and chapped, Peter never imagined he'd be spending Christmas Eve with his arch nemesis, or that that arch nemesis would turn out to be the tech tycoon and billionaire Tony Stark.
