    Summary

At the sound of my footsteps she stilled, then resumed her work with a curt patience that told me she would not be rushed. I waited without argument while she finished the autopsy, pulled her hands from the corpse’s stirred innards with a sickening squelch, and turned her gaze to me. Normally, I’d have thought myself a man of dauntless nerve, but something in the dark of her eyes made my blood run cold.

    “Lord Gortash, I presume.”

    ---

A tale of Enver Gortash's journey from blood-drunk lover to unreliable narrator as he reckons with lust, loss, and the harsh reality that some people change, while others remain exactly as they were.

    Summary

“Are you afraid of me?” She asked, genuine and quiet in tone.

    “No,” he lied.

“You should be. I will kill you someday,” she said with absolute sincerity.

“Not tonight, though,” he argued, smiling at her.

She grinned at his bold assumption. “No, not tonight.”

He liked to catch her off guard, almost as much as he liked to provoke her.

It was a conversation the two of them had time and time again. If he were ever honest with himself or anyone else, Enver would know that he accepted his fate the day that he met her. Everything after that was just a series of well-timed gambles and risks.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Both Astarion and the Dark Urge are endearingly pathetic. Hooked by the omnicidal demigod who only wants to play his silly little songs, staying for the worst and funniest fucking buddy comedy I've ever read.

He exhales, shifting, visibly as on edge as V feels right now. Fuck, she’s getting a little worked up by so much as the proposition, which is… confusing. “You’re still going, which gets me going, which puts us both in a fuckin’--”

“Feedback loop,” V concludes. Fuck. He’s got a point. An actual, legitimate point.

In which V and Johnny look for convenience and find something deep, confusing, and potentially tragic.
(If you told me I'd be stanning Johnny Silverhand and writing fanfic about Cyberpunk 2077 six months ago I would have laughed in your face. I am a clown. honk honk)

A sharp, biting laugh bursts from V's lips before he can stop it. Astarion still doesn't get it.

Trans masc Dark Urge. The writer understands the Dark Urge really well, and writes their interactions with Astarion in an authentic and compelling way.
