Rebirth. A gift from the heavens. A fortuitous process where a charred, lifeless husk of a human seizes the opportunity to feel the caress of the gentle wind, the embrace of warm sunlight. A divine circumstance offered only to the most privileged and worthy.
My own rebirth didn’t feel divine. Neither was I worthy of it.
From the second I discovered my world’s story, I knew I was a mistake. An anomaly. A tumbleweed in a garden filled to brim with exquisite flowers. Coal among diamonds. Even if the fate of this world was written down and set in stone, my own could be remade. However, knowledge begets variation yet variation negates knowledge.
Yet how, after all these insights, did I screw up the plot?
Clearly, I messed up.
Or; A transmigrator’s best attempts to not botch the story ended up bungling most of it.
