Stelle's future was laid out for her, penned by Elio's own hand.
She was meant to close her eyes, and wake up among close friends. She was meant to experience a wonderful journey across the cosmos, having many wonderful experiences along the way. She was meant to be the hero of a magnificent space odyssey.
It was perfect, really.

What was it that rolled burningly out of the eye socket?
Kafka stroked her cheeks in surprise, the wet watery stains puzzling her, but she couldn't make any expression, she could only woodenly let them keep gushing, overflowing from her eyes and sliding down the side of her face, wetting and haloing a patch of the writing on the book.
"Is this...tears?"
The emotion may not have grown its seedling yet, so it was unbeknownst to its owner, but the body's physiological response was the most instinctive, and it dissolved into a bitter trickle.
Kafka sat down on the floor in a disembodied state, tilting her head back and letting the tears flow.
Himeko was beside her, half-ringing Kafka with the snake's tail in a vain manner. She wasn't sure how she was supposed to comfort her, ha, spoken as if she could, but just watching Miss Witch weep expressionlessly, like an empty mannequin on the inside, was so depressing that she couldn't catch her breath either.
"Cry Kafka, I'll be there for you ......"
