Summary
Clive stared up at the ceiling from his bed, clutching a small blue top hat with a black feather in its band. It was hard to do much else when he was quite literally falling apart.
Otherworldly cracks formed across his hand and the left side of his face, extending across his hair like a pane of glass. And hovering just out of place, around the areas where the cracks gathered, were small shards of his body. Black and white squares even danced around him, giving off a faint static buzz. Needless to say, he wasn’t feeling too great!
(An AU where Clive is sent across timelines and is dealing with the effects.)

“I… I thought they were with you,” he said. The professor’s face shifted, a brief glimpse of fear in his eyes, and Clive’s body went cold.
They were still inside.
He turned to the burning building. Smoke billowed into the air, turning the sky dark. The raging flames were visible even from over here. No sign of Luke and Flora anywhere.
It was all too familiar.
Part of an assassin au variant where Clive was adopted and raised by Layton, and also taught to kill. Not canon to the rest of the au.

This is not a list. Though theoretically there 10 reasons to not go through whatever Clive is dealing with right now, but he's just a bit too busy not being murdered by an alternate version of the Professor to think of them.
Samthecookielord on tumblr has this silly little au of Clive being thrown through aus. This is honestly my jam, and I wrote a few scenes (recap?) based on the art. Seriously check them out.
