He didn’t believe it, not at first, and Regulus did his best to pretend the hesitance didn’t cut into some deep, hidden sore spot between his ribs. The knuckles of his left hand turned white as he held the phone to his ear.
“You — what?” Sirius asked, bewildered, his voice losing traction across the distance.
