Naomi si chiuse la pelliccia al collo e sollevò l’ombrellino per aprirlo sopra di sé; il rumore dei suoi geta schioccava sul legno del ponte rialzato, ma ogni eco veniva inghiottita dal freddo dell’aria che creava un silenzio rigido, permanente.
Persino l’acqua del fiume sembrava più lenta del solito, forse costretta in un forzato letargo, così come tutta Yokohama. Si allungò appena in avanti, per avvicinare il proprio naso al suo collo, lì dove l’aroma si intensificava, lì dove scorreva più sangue. Socchiuse gli occhi e prese un secondo respiro. Il suo calore quasi lo accarezzava, e la sensazione di essergli così vicino con le labbra aumentava quel piacere fragile, fatto unicamente di promesse e aspettativa. Delicato, in un certo senso: era necessario gestire l’equilibrio del piacere, altrimenti non si poteva godere più niente.
