Summary
The good news: Viktor took a break at the right time for Jayce to watch him in the afternoon light, when he went to sit on the armchair by the window. It was an ethereal image - the sun caught the wild strands of his hair, dipping them in gold.
The bad news: there was no way to represent this without switching to toned paper.
The good news: Jayce bought toned paper.
The bad news: Viktor ended up looking more like some kind of bioluminescent hedgehog.

Summary
What he saw when he emerged into the kitchen, still groggy, his blanket cape trailing behind him, was worse than anything Jayce could have imagined.
Sitting at his kitchen table, sharing a pot of tea with his mother, was Viktor. The man looked thoroughly at home there, his posture relaxed, smiling at Jayce’s mother as she chattered away. There was something on the table between them. Jayce squinted, then as his mother turned a page, confusion curdled into horror in his gut.

Or: Two months into his partnership with the most brilliant man Jayce has ever met, he's hit with a terrible bout of man flu.
Viktor attempts to help by bringing Jayce some work notes to keep him occupied. He manages to make everything far, far worse.

Summary
The hammer clattered to the floor with a noise that reverberated off the shining walls, glitching and sparking angrily at the edge of his vision. Jayce couldn’t think about it, couldn’t think about the mage, the future, every broken promise piling onto his back like a ton of rubble. He reached out, blindly, finding the hem of Viktor’s robe and pulling him closer, until he could press his face against him. The hand on his shoulder didn’t shift.
“I’m sorry,” Jayce gasped, not knowing who he was apologising to.
“I forgive you,” Viktor said, as if it was that simple.
After killing Salo in the Hexgate chamber, Jayce finds his way to Viktor's commune with a singular goal in mind. He falls at the first hurdle, and spends the days that follow desperately trying to work up the resolve to do what needs to be done.

Summary
“Wait, but… why do you want to join me anyway? I’m chasing this crazy dream of making a better meatless burger. Most of the carnivores out there think it’s impossible.”
Viktor rises up to his full height, which honestly isn’t much taller than he is while hunched over his cane.
“Do you think it was my life’s ambition to be an assistant manager?”
Confused at how to respond, Jayce flounders a bit. “Uh… I wouldn’t really know, given I don’t know anything about you.”
Viktor sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose again. “Oh, forget it. Do you want the McDonald’s burger patty recipe or not?”
The story of Jayce and Viktor's rise to fast food partnership and fame, told through the eyes of friends and family who are At Their Limit.

Summary
Ever so carefully- as if his hair were made of glass instead of silk and daydreams- Viktor reaches his hand out, his fingers stretching toward Jayce’s hair. He wavers for a moment, hesitating only a second- what if Jayce pulls away? What if he is misreading this whole scenario? What if he crosses a line that cannot be uncrossed-
He is laying with his head in your lap, Viktor chides himself. If anyone crossed a line, it was him. This is merely retaliation- the consequences of his actions. Something Jayce needs exposure to anyway.
And with that, Viktor slips his fingers into Jayce’s hair.
