“Have you been my shadow this whole time?!” Webby bursts.
Funnily enough it’s Lena’s face that flushes this time. The tips of her pointed ears swivel downwards like a cat’s.
“N-Not the whole time!” She splutters.
That gets an eyebrow raise, because, what on earth did that mean?
“I was only curious!”
“Curious enough to become my shadow?”
“For, like, five minutes!” Lena insists, but she’s still blushing. “Every once in a while…”
Her eyes won’t meet Webby’s. After a moment she continues.
“Every couple months…” She crosses her arms. Webby remembers suddenly what Violet said about Fae being unable to lie.
“Your life is really interesting okay!” She bursts out, frustrated. “Sue me if I wanted a peek every now and then!”
___22 years ago Scrooge signed away the life of his first born, sure in the fact that he never planned on having any children of his own. Years later someone else makes that choice for him, unfortunately, they forget to tell him.

"Is everything okay?”
“Oh thank God,” Marcy breathes. Somewhere in the vicinity of the call she can hear what sounds like a struggle. Someone yells and another person screams in pain. “We, uh, we need you to come in. Like, as fast as you can.”
Anne blinks.
“Marcy, you know that I don’t do that,” she starts, “We’ve been over this. Your work stays at work and I’m not getting involved with it just because your boss thinks-”
Marcy growls in frustration and something behind her in the call shrieks. The sound is eerily familiar and the goosebumps running up Anne’s spine can’t seem to decide why.
“What the fuck is that?!”
“That!” Marcy growls, “Is why I need you here. Goddamnit, Anne, they found her!”
Anne is still lost.
“Found who?!”
“Sasha!”
____Of fantasy worlds you could fall into from your own, some are nicer than others. Even still, most of them aren't The Backrooms.

Summary
Mal notices lots of things about Molly.
She has exactly 253 freckles scattered across her cheeks, and a little mole beneath her left eye that no one ever seems to notice. She smiles with her eyes more than her cheeks and her hands flutter around her whenever she's nervous like butterflies trying to take flight. She prefers water to sugary sodas, taps a rhythm in 3/4 when she's not paying attention, laughs with her entire body.
So it stands to reason that Mal would also notice when certain things about Molly begin to change.

Or, the one in which Molly's transformation comes a bit sooner, and a bit slower.

Summary
Sasha let out a growl and lunged, catching the creature, whatever it was, by its hood. She wasn't about to let it get away, not without a fight.
"Get over here!"
The hood comes down, but before she can get a good look at it, something slams against the side of Sasha's face. Her hand is still in the hood, though, and so they go down together. A body landing atop Sasha's and pressing her into the dirt. Something presses against her throat-- probably the same thing that hit her in the face-- and she's forced to look up into the eyes of her attacker or risk getting her wind-pipe crushed like a twig.
"Anne?!" She wheezes.
"GRAAH!" Anne snarls, pupils the size of pinpricks.

Anne never makes it to Wartwood. At least, not on her own.

“What the fuck,” Sasha doesn’t quite manage to contain her confusion this time and two heads whirl in her direction, two pairs of eyes reflecting the firelight. It’s honestly kind of unsettling.
The stunned silence that follows doesn’t really help.
“What are you doing in my house?!” the shorter-haired one shouts.
“Your house?!” Sasha can’t help but splutter. “This is my house, I just bought it!”
“Bought it? It is not for sale…”
“Is that-” the woman beside her begins and the short-haired woman straightens up like she’s been shocked.
“Anne, no-”
“Oh my lord, she is,” A voice announces from just behind Sasha’s right ear and she whirls around, nearly jumping out of her skin.

Summary

Summary
Unlike all the others, she doesn’t jolt awake all surprised and wide-eyed, this time. She rolls over and opens her eyes to the empty space beside her, open and cold, bed sheets wrinkled but empty. No weary-eyed girl sleeping with a light frown and a pair of green-rimmed glasses for her to chuckle gently at and take off, place it on their nightstand. No certain blonde all curled up on the other side, spooning Marcy’s back like a sloth clinging on a branch. It’s all empty, cold air rattling on her hollow bones, and it’s really fucking uncomfortable when you have a whole king-sized bed filling up most of the space in the room. Like she’d always be incomplete without the other two by her side. A piece but not whole.
OR, Sasha tries to accept the fact that she's loved, Anne tries to deal with her immense fear of losing her lovers, and Marcy tries to accept the fact that she's wanted and needed no matter what.

Sometimes, she’d imagine Anne dragging a bulging suitcase down the hallway of their apartment, her face completely unreadable, like ancient runes her little human mind couldn’t even begin to comprehend. Sometimes, she’d imagine Anne walking out the door without one last glance back, closing the door with no real force, but enough to make it hurt.
Or, while being miserably sick at home, Marcy and Sasha wonders about what they would do if Anne simply walks out their apartment door and leaves them to fall apart on their own.
