Hilichurls are great friends, they don't ask you stupid questions. Like 'where are you from' or 'how did you get here' or 'why did you break into my house', none of that nosy crap. They just have your back and you have theirs. Now if only everyone else could get with the program.
Or looks can be deceiving and the visionless hilichurl human is a lot more intense than people think.

“Dain...”
He gripped onto Dain as tightly as possible, hiding his face in his chest. They both didn’t care whether or not the tears falling down his cheeks were soaking Dain’s clothes. All they could do now was embrace each other, one claiming back what was once his, and the other, trying to forget everything. The only thing that could be heard was the sobbing from the golden haired boy.
Dain rubbed circles on his back, “Shh… none of this was your fault… it wasn’t your choice.”

When Aether was separated from his sister, Lumine, he was left alone to fend for himself in a world unknown to him. Still suffering from the loss of his old home, Khaenri’ah— in order to seek revenge, Aether created the abyss order. He is forced to become the cold and merciless prince of the Abyss, eliminating all in his way. Five-hundred years later, Aether reunites with his sister— but she has sided with the enemy. Even though Aether could never forgive himself for the monstrosity he has created, many notice his suffering and are more than willing to forgive him.
(Non-Cannon Story! But still follows most of the lore, I just add my AU into this.)

"Mika!" Yuu exclaimed, completely taken back, "You're heavy! We're so very close. You have to get down or they'll catch us!"
Mika just sniffed in return and secured his hold on him. "Ta- home..." He murmured, sounding muffled due to his mouth pressed tightly on his shirt.
"Mika," Yuu promised, "Everything will be okay, you'll see we will get out of-"
Mika's head rose a little from his neck, "Take me home Yuu-chan."
Yuu's mouth shut. He pressed the blond closer to him, before nodding slowly.
"I will."
(Or the AU in which Mika and Yuu escape Sanguinem together. But, Guren arrives late and they are left to wander around the streets of Japan.)
