An attempt at a SI-fic with a character not quite lucky enough to be given easy access to the main cast. Sporting a fresh case of “amnesia” and a disgustingly overpowered cursed technique to balance out his ineptitude, the casual fan who’s replaced Naoya Zen’in has enough on his plate without having to muddle through clan politics and the social repercussions of incarnating as such an utter bastard. It’s going to be really hard to save the world and not die when he’s barely involved in the original plot … and when he never even finished the damn manga.
Maybe he’s only half-lying when he says he doesn’t remember anything.

For a moment, Yuuji's mind struggles to make sense of the new information—the dark of the night, a surprisingly chilly breeze, and... nothing below them but clouds.
He's got two tight fistfuls of Gojo's jacket before he realizes, his feet dangling midair. "Gojo-sensei?!"
"Tada! One beautiful starry sky for my most favoritest student in the whole wide world, Itadori Yuuji-kun!" Gojo's loud and proud voice drops down to a conspiratorial whisper in the next moment, pressed warm against the shell of Yuuji's ear. "Ah, but don't tell Nobara-chan or Megumi-kun I said you're my favorite, though."
Yuuji's breath hitches. Suddenly, he is very, very aware of the fact that he's being held by his homeroom teacher with a dildo up his ass.

Or, a deeply unstable Root graduate with no concept of selfhood and only the most tenuous grasp of what sanity might be supposed to look like in sterile lab conditions makes friends, does his best to figure out how independence is supposed to work, terrifies a lot of responsible adults (and less responsible "peers") who really just want to help, and carefully unhinges everyone he meets one screw at a time while somehow managing to (debatably) make their lives better for it. Depressing introspection and unfortunate perspective gaps are only to be expected. This is the best Kabuto's mental health has been ... ever, and the eighth panic attack Hizashi has had this week.
