Summary
Scorpius joins his first year in Hogwarts, several months after his mother Astoria Malfoy's passing. He's depressed, miserable and slowly starting to come to terms with the loss of his mother, whilst his relationship with his father is far from stable.
He meets Rose Weasley, who is currently going through the same situation as he is, after losing her own father during an accident.
After realising that their still very much alive parent's had a past relationship, they work together to reunite them and move on, so that they can all heal and be one big happy family together.
Just like they should've been all of those years ago.

Granger ignored him and walked back to her desk, a resolute expression on her face.

DRACO MALFOY IS DIRECTIONLESS, unless crashing and burning qualifies as moving in a direction. He’s perfectly content to piss away his time in pubs and dark alleys until his debauchery becomes too public. Wizengamot-mandated therapy is the last stop before Azkaban. If imbibing is off the table, terrorising his Healer might be the next best thing.
HERMIONE GRANGER IS NO LONGER AT THE TOP OF HER CLASS, and truth be told, it rankles. Proving the validity of her experimental research will finally allow her to move forward. And she’ll be damned if she lets a certain blond-haired ponce hold her back from the success of this study.

Summary
Draco Malfoy is arrogant and he knows it. He’s unapologetic about it. Flaunts his pureblood status in just about every sentence. He also loves to abuse his father’s name, constantly being heard saying, “my father will hear about this!” What everyone doesn’t know, is how deeply he can care and how hard he falls when he is in love. No one knows that, except Hermione Granger. The day she was attacked by the Basilisk, Draco realized just how much he needed her around to better himself in class. Without her, there was no challenge. Teasing Potter and Weasley wasn’t even fun unless Granger was around for it.
So, unbeknownst to everyone but the healer, Draco visited Hermione every day she was in the hospital, telling her about classes and how boring it was without her and how terrible he felt about how he was treating her beforehand. He had no idea she could hear and even retain everything he was saying.
When Draco disappears after The Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione makes it her mission to bring him home and show him that he has something to come back to.
