    Local sun god discovers TOA server and Lester-bot, gets emotional and cries while his siblings watch.

    The Lester-bot was as pathetic as me. Hermes laughed shamelessly scrolling through the haikus Lester-bot composed.

    "They liked it though !" I protested weakly, but my heart was warm, warmer than it had ever been in my immortal life.

    Tears welled in my eyes, as I watched the mortals chat with the Lester-bot, on my bad haikus and my pains and sufferings. I was so ugly, and so pathetic. No group of mortals had ever accepted me like this since the fall of the original Delphi. Why would they ? When I have failed every lover, every friend every city I had came across, only alive standing on the deaths of so many-

     

    "I told you he would cry." Ares whispered to Athena.

    "Yes ! I won the bet this time !" Hermes pumped his fists softly.

    "No one was betting for the other side, Hermes." Dionysus smirked.

    Chapter 4

     

    "Styx offered me a deal. She would assist me with bringing you back to the overworld if I swore on her river to bring you back." Cyrene said. "With her influence, all the rivers of the Underworld will assist you in your escape from Tartarus."

     

    It was wonderful news. I tried to make myself look happy.

    Cyrene did not look convinced.

     

    Mere seconds later, I broke.

    "Why would you do that ?" I bemoaned. I knew that sounded horribly ungrateful, but I couldn't help the despair rising up my throat. "Why would you put yourself in this horrible place just to help me ? Can you go back ?"

    I stared at the waters of Phlegethon, and scooped a handful of fire. "Can you bring her back ?"

    The fire bubbled and splashed itself into my face. "Hey !"

    I loved you." Commodus choked out, as Hyacinthus pulled him away, and with Cyrene forced him to his knees. I had a feeling he was never in that position before.

    I looked at him from below, and saw my reflection in his eyes.

     

    A tired, golden god. Unworthy of all his titles and adoration. Lying broken on the blood-red ground.

     

    "I loved you too." I tried to say. But he must've nicked my throat just now. He always goes for my throat.

     

    So I gave him a wobbly thumbs up. The kind I give to over-enthusiastic gods and goddesses at my concerts.

    There was a heavy silence. As Commodus went still under Cyrene and Hyacinthus' hold.

     

    Did it not work ? I frowned, and dropped my hand, my thumb falling upside down in the process.

    "YOU MOCK ME-"

    Commodus screamed at me, profanities and confessions. I sighed, closing my eyes.

     

    Maybe it worked too well.

    Exactly what it says on the tin, the gods demand that someone qualified teach demigods, starting with the Seven, sex ed. Unfortunately, the only one qualified is Athena. Will she fail at teaching these young demigods, no of course not, she is Athena. However it will be awkward for everyone involved, and hopefully a little funny, maybe even a little wholesome if I can manage. Still hope you enjoy

    “Today is short,” Athena explained, “because it is the first day, the other days will be longer, though not by much. This is important and I know better than to lecture eight demigods for hours on end. And my cameraman, who is currently filming a butterfly outside instead of the classroom,” Athena said very obviously signaling to Apollo.

    “What, you said class was over,” Apollo said completely fine with getting caught, it wouldn’t be the first or last time Athena caught him goofing off.

    But what’s so bad about a little darkness, you ask

    Why can’t you stop

    Why can’t you curl up in the shadows

    The curtain has not fallen yet. This is not the stage he’s used to, but he’ll dance it nonetheless.

     

    (Tripping over the unfamiliar choreography and stage, falling, spreading his ichor everywhere as tears drip into it.)

     

    It’s fine. Everyone loves the color gold, right? So what’s the matter if the stage is painted in it?

    Jason kept talking. “Apollo wasn’t the problem. To punish him for Gaea waking is–” He wanted to say stupid, but he caught himself. “–unwise.”

    “Unwise.” Zeus’s voice was almost a whisper. “Before the assembled gods, you would call me unwise.”

    …

    Then Artemis stepped out of the shadows. “Father, this hero fought long and hard for our cause. His nerves are frayed. We should take that into account.”

    Jason started to protest, but Artemis stopped him with a glance. Her expression sent a message so clear she might have been speaking in his mind: Thank you, demigod. But do not press this. I will reason with Zeus when he is calmer.

     

    Blood of Olympus, 448

    In another world, Zeus listens to Jason and Artemis and lightens Apollo’s punishment. Well, at least he says so. Jury’s out on that.

    Summary:
    the chapter where artemis kinda thinks a bit

    They paused at that. Austin burst out incredulously, “Well, why not?!” When Will elbowed him, he hastily added, “Lady Artemis.”

    She tried to find a way to break “your dad is mentally broken and would probably scream and cry if he saw you guys rather than open his arms for a hug” to them. She winced. (There was a quiet “oh no” from Kayla.)

    “He’s not exactly…in the place to be seeing you all right now.” She said gently.

    Will set his jaw and stepped forward. “With all due respect, Lady Artemis, what do you mean by that?”

    She sighed. “It means that he’d wish for you kids to never see the version of him that he is right now.”

    This clearly gutted the trio, and they kept glancing at each other in open shock and horror. Artemis wanted to be able to reassure them that everything was fine and that Apollo was doing great on Olympus, but she couldn’t.
