He assumes she’s training to be a hero.

Sometimes it's a lack of trust because trust is a fragile thing and it's hard to trust something with a secret when the world has taught us how dangerous people can be.
Sometimes people take their secrets to the grave. Midoriya Inko was one of those people.

About a week after that, All Might asked Izuku if he was aiming for the hero course at UA. The question was so sudden that Izuku nearly dropped a microwave on his toes.
The truth was, if All Might had asked him that a week ago, there would have only been one possible answer to that question. All Might had gone to UA, UA was the best, so Izuku was going to go there too, if he could. But things were a little different, now that he was going to receive All Might’s Quirk.
“No,” he said, decisively.
All Might looked caught off guard, which was a very rare expression on him. “No?” he echoed, like he couldn’t believe it.
A laugh bubbled out of Izuku’s throat. He honestly couldn’t believe it either. “No,” he repeated.

The tears Izuku managed to hold back earlier fill his eyes again, and he bites hard at his lip. He’s seven now; he has to be brave. “I’m okay,” he says softly. “Th-thank you for saving me.”
Those strange, dark eyes soften a little. “It’s my job,” he says simply.
Still. Izuku never got to thank him, the first time.
Izuku gets hit by a quirk that de-ages him to seven years old, and relearns what it means to be taken care of.

“Shit.” The word left Izuku’s mouth the second their eyes met.
“Shits right, you asshole.” Katsuki said, dragging a chair over to the side of the bed. He forced himself to look Izuku in the face, focusing on keeping eye contact so that none of the fear clawing at his insides could slip through if he got caught up in watching Izuku squirming like an injured animal. There was no point in asking how he was doing when it was clearly not going well. Izuku had a high tolerance for pain and preferred to hide his injuries so as to not be a bother. Katsuki knew this was no act to garner sympathy.
So he asked the only thing he could come up with.
“Why am I your emergency contact?”
Or: Katsuki is left to pick up the pieces of everything left behind by his friend after he is called to the hospital to find Izuku was caught in a painful de-aging quirk accident that ends up being permanent.
