Where was Dazai? An excellent question. Chuuya'd been out of the country when his boyfriend left, per Mori's own design he was sure.
Otherwise, it just so happened that Dazai's father died and one of his best friends betrayed him while Chuuya wasn't around. Complete coincidence, just like the old boss dying and leaving his entire organisation to his doctor, while in the presence of a suicidal fourteen-year-old.
Nothing suspicious there at all. Chuuya rolled his eyes in irritation; Mori seriously got on his nerves. Had done so since day one when he used a kid the red head's age to shatter an organisation of orphaned street rats because he spotted a diamond in the rough.
Despite it all, Chuuya smiled as he wiped blood from his upper lip even while his nose continued to ooze lazily. Dazai was free.

He walks into the kitchen as he always does when he breaks in, expecting to see the redhead frowning as he angrily gets out plates and bowls or forks or spoons.
Instead he sees Chuuya sitting in the corner of his kitchen slumped onto the floor with wine by his side and an arm cradled to his chest.
Huh, well this isn't going to go down well. Dazai walks toward Chuuya and stops just short of a foot away. He crouches down and tilts his head to get a better look at Chuuya's arm.

Summary
Dazai never was really too fussy over secondary genders, all four genders had their pros and cons and he had a knack for making things work out regardless of the cards he was dealt. That being said, he considered himself fortunate enough to be a beta. It was the best outcome, essentially. He was unphased by commands, heats or ruts, he wasn't affected by commands from any of the other genders.
That was, until he stumbled to Chuuya's on a Monday afternoon feeling incredibly ill. You first heat sucks when you don't present until 22, FYI.
