"That's why you hate me, isn't it?" Yuusuke broke the silence. "You knew someone with my name, and you think I'm pretending to be him."
"I don't hate you." Sunny sounded surprised that Yuusuke had come to this conclusion. "It's just… hard to look at you."
"Because you think I'm a murderer?"
"There's no reason to think that," Sunny answered too quickly--like he was trying to convince himself, too--and Yuusuke saw the truth in the way that his eyes dropped to the floor.
Electricity is scarce, and one of its best sources are mechanical monsters called Howlers that stalk the boundaries of bright cities. The ones who keep them out and harvest their invaluable power cores are a force of cultivators known as Silencers. Zhang Youjing of Busan's 17th Silencing division has been lucky enough to train under Sunny Darby, the famous Ice Giant of Busan. But their lives turn upside down when a routine mission ends with nine deaths and the discovery of a stranger who remembers nothing except his name: Meiji Yuusuke.
