"And why's that?" Scott asked, watching as Jimmy gently ran the washcloth over the deep puncture wound on his shoulder.
"Because I'm the king, Petal," He replied with a smile, "And what I say goes."
Scott scoffed, "You're not my king."
Jimmy pulled the cloth away, placing it on the counter. He gently lifted Scott's chin with his hand, forcing the angel to look up at him. Everything Jimmy did was gentle. The way he touched Scott was sickeningly sweet, as if he was some antique art piece, something fragile that the blonde had to be careful with. Scott's blue eyes locked onto Jimmy's warm green.
"I think we'll both find that isn't necessarily true."

Lingering thoughts can be rather fascinating, with how they just get stuck in your brain and often refuse to leave, making everything remind you of said thoughts.
Scott just doesn't find any amusement in being the one in that position, though he might not be the only one with this trouble.

Summary
Back in Third Life, Grian had given Scar a feather. A symbol of trust, a symbol of their bond—something Scar could tell meant a lot in avian culture, even if he didn’t understand all the specifics.
Now, they were friends again, only after five seasons had gone by, only after Scar had to kill him to get him to even look in his direction, only after Grian had offered to repay him for losing him a life.
Scar couldn’t help but stare at that feather, even after all this time.
