It wasn't like they knew that it was going to happen. The briefcase looked fine, Herb was confident that it would work, and Five seemed inclined to believe him, so they'd huddled together and set their course for home. But, maybe using a briefcase that had just been stuck in a supernatural energy wave wasn't their smartest idea.
Then again, it isn't the weirdest thing to happen to them. At least in this universe— dimension, reality?— there were other superheroes left having to save the world. Which meant all they had to do was figure out how to get home. Simple enough, right?
or, the briefcase sends the Hargreeves into the 2015 Marvel Universe because things can't ever go their way. Post Season 02.

(Working title because I haven't written fanfiction in literal years)
"Eri had been learning to control her quirk more, to be less afraid of it, and gain confidence with it. But she still didn’t have the best control over it, especially when unintentionally activated. She could only remember the other times it had been out of her control – her blood forcibly taken and used to hurt people, to take away their quirks. And that is why, though she didn’t have much control in the moment, she concentrated on that feeling of resistance, of not wanting to rewind somebody’s quirk. Subconsciously, she influenced one outcome of her quirk, though nobody would realize it until later.
When Eraserhead ran back after hearing Eri’s scream a few blocks away, Erasure already activated as he jumped into the scene, he found Eri, shaken but unharmed, and a small baby with white hair and several streaks of red, unconscious under a pile of Dabi’s clothes."Or, Dabi gets deaged from Eri's quirk but keeps his memories and quirk, and now has to deal with Eraserhead and Class 1A for the unforeseeable future...

Summary
A singing competition is something that Dabi would have normally dismissed, but the prospect of free food made him check it out. It gets him half a bag of chips, the start of a friendship with a giant of a woman, and a roof over his head. Now he just has to win round after round to keep it all as long as possible. Lucky him, being dramatic and hardworking is basically his motto.
Except nothing is ever easy for him, and the League of Villains is now attacking civilian targets -including the competition. Their Nomu are ransacking everything in sight... and seems almost familiar. That's probably only his memories playing tricks on him. At least the bird send to defend them is kinda funny.
