"Wright," he says, loud enough to be heard, and the streak of blue stills and executes a quick about-face.
"Hey, Edgeworth," Wright says, face bright. "I thought I missed you, was just about to send you a message."

His voice fails, the man's name dying a silent death in his throat. Wright moves closer to join him, and Miles stares, transfixed, as the object of his attention looms, gaining clarity as the space between them shrinks.
Below the solid frame of Wright's jaw, underlined by a vivid blue collar, is a bruise. A very distinctive, purpling bruise, circular, bleeding color into tanned skin directly over his jugular.
Miles's brain sputters and halts, gears stalling mid-turn.
"Edgeworth?"
"What," Miles attempts, and when it comes out of his mouth almost ashen, he clears his throat to try again. "How did your case go?"
