“I’ve had strange dreams since we left Solas. Dangerous dreams. I don’t know whether they’re from Mythal’s past or a portent for the future”.
Abelas felt a chill of foreboding. “What did you dream?”
“I saw myself in a city fashioned from crystal”, explained Ellana. “It floated in the sky as if by magic. At its heart in a gigantic glass cathedral, on a dais of marble were two thrones. I sat in one, while a stranger was seated in the other. At first I thought it was Solas, because his hair was dark”.
“But?” prompted Abelas, as fear sank into the pit of his belly.
“His eyes were green instead of grey. And his face was more angular, his features sharper and more pointed. He smiled at me with a fondness reminiscent of a man in love. Then he took my hand in his, our fingers entwining as he made me a promise. He said he’d come for me, and together we’d restore what Fen’Harel had destroyed”.

[Post-DAI, Post-Tresspasser DLC] Two Lavellans or one? Solas encounters a stranger in the meadow outside Val Volyeaux with the face of his beloved Ellana. They look the same, but are they? He's not so sure.
"You must have questions”, called Solas – expectant.
“I don’t”.
He gaped in startled bewilderment. Her reply so blunt he wasn’t sure if he should take offense. He had expected some kind of curiosity, even vehemence after how he’d left her in Crestwood. Alone.
Then she tapped her foot, exhaling a breath. Then he heard the rhythmic tapping of her fingers upon the steel-plates of her tassets. Her impatience obvious.
He waited several moments until Ellana huffed, making a noise of irritation.
The silence turned awkward. Solas didn’t know what to say, so he said what he thought. “Is there a reason why you are not interested in finding out what I have to tell you?”
He stared when she groaned, thrusting out her left arm – wondering what madness had overcome her.

Summary
[Post-Dragon Age Inquisition] Solas believed Ellana Lavellan has been dead for five hundred years since the sacking of Skyhold, till she strolls by him in the marketsquare. He cannot believe what he's seeing when she picks up an apple he'd dropped and hands it back to the fruit vendor, Harlyn with her compliments.
She stops to admire the merchandise at another stall, stepping forwards out of Solas’ path. He slides passed with a shout, leaving a trail of icy cobbles behind him. She doesn’t bat an eyelid when he crashes into the back of a wagon filled with cabbages. She hears the wagon owner yell, his donkey’s frightened braying and Solas curse. She pays the startled merchant twenty silvers and fifty bits for bolts of red and blue samite.
“I’ll send Cole around to pick them up later”.
“Of course, milady”, replies the merchant, her eyes on the chaos unfolding down the street. “Oh, that poor fellow”.

A 'What If' rewrite of the End of the Trespasser DLC.
“I will never forget you”.
Solas walks away, confident in the knowledge that Lavellan will live maimed. Her left arm severed to the elbow. A clean cut through flesh and bone that will be agonising in the coming days. A constant reminder that he is more dangerous than any foe she has faced. An Evanuris like Mythal and the other mage-gods of the elven pantheon.
He is certain of his victory until he hears a sigh of relief rather than despair.
Ellana has ceased begging him to reconsider. She’s not sobbing, sniffling or wailing. She’s too composed when he hears her speak. The timbre of her voice lacking its former desperation. Her sudden calmness is unsettling after the revelation of his true nature, of his ties to the Evanuris.
“It’s over at last. Maker’s balls. Five thousand years stuck in this form. No more masquerading as a mortal. I can go home”.

Zack's talking faster. Like he can sense the ominous force rising in the background. "And actually when you think about it, you're the first consort. You visiting would show some major respect for an old ally like that," he assures Angeal.
"I see. So this plan would involve leaving you here to –" Angeal twists his torso slightly to break Zack's hold again, and sits up to pin him. "– hold down the fort, so to speak?"
Zack splutters and tries to sit up. Angeal restrains his squirming without any apparent effort, a look of a distant contemplation on his face. "No way, man! For real?! Of course I've gotta go with you! Say psych!"
"Do I get a say in this?!" Genesis demands, throwing up both arms up to the sides and then letting them drop.
"At some point," Angeal says, cryptically.
The noise that Genesis makes cannot be quantified.
