Summary
Once upon a time, monsters and humans lived in peace.
And then came a devastating war, where seven great mages used their magic to cast the monsters away, trapping them on…an island.
But you, local Pacific siren, had just accidentally enchanted and saved a 7-foot skeleton monster, whose infamous island did not live up to its name. It was supposed to be full of magical monsters sealed away by humans, but the only things that spoke steadily was the frightening thunder.
You weren't supposed to be intrigued by the starving monsters, or human life in general, but then again, you weren't supposed to trade your voice for legs either.

Summary
You're a gargoyle, (you think?) turning to stone in the daytime and waking up at night.
Life was great: you remember waking up at a garage sale, before somehow ending up in the basement of a mansion. A mansion that had been empty for a decade now, until your new tenant moved in above you.
He didn't throw parties, clean out the basement, or much of anything, so it was fine.
It was another normal graveyard shift at your 24/7 open cafe, where you were the main barista on deck.
Until you spilled coffee all over a customer, as their...eyes? Uh...pupils, of red and blue seemed to bore into your very soul.
Wait... this wasn't the guy that recently moved into your mansion, right...?

Summary
You had a bad experience with monsters.
After living with your skeleton roommate for just a month (you refuse to even think of his name now, but it rhymed with pans,) he had the audacity to kick you out, forcing you to live in some forest where he straight up dumped you.
So, three years later, it's exciting when you find a skeleton dead in your forest, a gaping hole in their skull.
But hey, bone broth for dinner didn’t sound too bad.

Tired of being chased for food all across fics in Horrortale? Well, how the turntables, cause now YOU get to cook yourself some skeleton stew.
Wait… he's still alive? Oh... *cough* drown him in the soup *coughcough*

Summary
Your journey was over.
The world had been saved, enemies defeated, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, you were afforded the luxury that was peace.
And like your enemy, (your friend?) had said to you before your final match, you itched for something more challenging, more engaging.
And in that moment of reminiscence, you regretted leaving your friend to his fate, to a lonely death at the edge of that ethereal universe.

His journey was over.
Or perhaps “journey” wasn’t the right word. Maybe the word “hunt” would be more fitting, yet, at the very end, lying next to you, not as the Warrior of Light, but as his equal, he felt satisfied.
Musing his thoughts, met only with your laboring breaths and silence, he voiced his question, of how your existence mirrored his. Of the journey he could’ve had, had his circumstances been so incredibly different.
And in that moment, as the stars glittered above him, he made a wish.
In which, surrounded by a sea of dynamis, Zenos' wish comes true, and he seeks you out for hopes of finding a new passion, whether you like it or not.
(Soft Zenos cuz I can)

Summary
Fortune favored the bold.
But Evangeline wasn’t sure if her sister favored anyone besides herself. With a smile coy and practiced, she bathed in brilliance, jewels, and gold, bringing decades worth of fortune with a mere touch.
Evangeline had no such luxuries. She had no time to indulge in the parties her sister threw along with Asgore, no will to partake in formalities with other gods, and she was only invited due to common courtesy anyway, because…
Because she was Misfortune, and she favored the wise.
