Claude’s head falls forward and he looks at Sylvain, and his face stokes the burning wildfire in his chest, brows drawn and dark flush to his cheeks and sweat dripping down his forehead and pupils blown out and mouth dropped open around a moan, Sylvain’s name the only coherent word. And Sylvain thinks, not for the first time tonight, that he may have been wrong about God growing up, and that maybe He is real, and that maybe, just maybe, He’s taken the form of the man in front of him. And Sylvain thinks that if that’s the case, then he’ll be praying and worshipping much more often from now on.

Claude laughs, “is this not the present?”
“It’s part of it.” He lets go of him and Claude fights the urge to whine about the loss of touch. “Wait here.”
He walks over to their closet and reaches in, pulling out a simple black box with a single golden ribbon on top. He presents it to Claude with a flourish and knowing grin. “Happy birthday, sweetheart.”
Claude sets the box on his lap and carefully pulls off the lid.

And Dimitri, that lovely, magnificent, horrid man— he reaches up and gently, carefully cradles Sylvain’s face, as if holding something precious and priceless, something beautiful and fragile and special, and it makes Sylvain’s chest ache and he wants to run and he wants to scream and he wants to cry. But he wants to lean into the touch more than anything.
And Dimitri, Dimitri, Dimitri, he looks at him, looks at him like he’s an early morning sunrise or a field of daisies and tulips and daffodils or a shining shimmering starry night sky, and he looks at Sylvain, and he smiles, and he says, “you are not a bad man, Sylvain.”

Koutarou slips a hand down his stomach, and Keiji tracks it naturally, watching as Koutarou squeezes the growing bulge in his shorts, letting him see what he does to him without doing anything at all, how much Koutarou needs him right now.
Behind his glasses, Keiji’s lids lower. His tongue dips out to wet his lips. Wordlessly, he closes his book and sets it on his nightstand, then folds his glasses and places them neatly on top of it. He shuffles down a bit further into the pillows and looks back to Koutarou expectantly, squinting through his blurry vision.
He opens his mouth and lolls his tongue out.
“Fuck yes, baby,” Koutarou growls.
