Summary
Elijah knows he was wrong, but he doesn't know how to fix it. He misjudged a person whom he'll probably never see again, and won't know what to say if he does. After all, even though he made a mistake, he never really liked her. But when they cross paths by accident, he finds a woman who has thoroughly dropped her former shields, and everyone seems to think it's because of what he said. Which is, of course, impossible—in his experience, nobody listens to him.
Darcy knows she was wrong, and she's done her best to fix it. She's apologized to half a dozen people, tried to address her mental health issues, and is toning down her arrogance. She never expected any reward, but when the man she loves unexpectedly enters her life again, she realizes she's got the chance to show him she's changed. And at first it seems to be working—but when disaster strikes his family, she knows it will take more than basic kindness to prove her love.

It wasn’t exactly the worst birthday ever. Harry was used to birthdays being spent with his parents, and with Sirius, and with Uncle Remus. He was used to his birthdays being quiet affairs, but this year he’d wanted a real birthday party. Not necessarily a big grand event, like for his eleventh birthday. Maybe just Ron and Hermione, or maybe he could invite all the boys in his dormitory too, and then there was his friends on the Quidditch team, and of course Susan and Hannah, and Padma and Lavender.
