The teacher coughs, clearing her throat. “The witch knew that not everything lasts.The world changes and so do people’s circumstances. She made it so those whose passions were crushed could regain their bond, be it the same passion as before or a different one altogether. As long as souls found similar loves, their connection would be known.”

This is bad, he needs to go. -- scrambles out of his prone position on the forest floor and his hands flounder out around him, hoping to land some kind of purchase on a nearby tree in order to guide him to safety. The trees will know what to do, they always know what to do.
-- feet pound against the forest ground, soil kicked up haphazardly at every step. He doesn’t know where he’s going, the Evil chasing him has yet to give up, and most of all Wilbur is scared. He doesn’t know why the forest has abandoned him in his weakest moment—because that’s what looks to be most likely. The forest has always been a safe haven for him, but it’s as if it doesn’t want to bother caring for him anymore.
Or: The forest is being threatened. As its witch, -- refuses to let harm come to it.
Unfortunately, his actions have consequences. Thankfully, three familiars find him and help -- through his struggles---and maybe they find a family along the way.Series
