“You did well today,” Kevin says. With Jean at his feet like this, he has the perfect view of how his face crinkles, brows furrowing in question. Jean lets out a soft noise, and makes to lift his head from Kevin’s knee. “Shh.” Kevin eases his head back down, and thumbs across one eyebrow. It doesn’t relax under his touch as he’d like.
