Summary
The Government of the Omicron Settlement appeals to the Federation for help with a virus that is sweeping across the planet. Starfleet tasks the Enterprise with collecting and delivering a supply of rare medicinal plants to help combat the pandemic. Captain Kirk, Commander Spock, Doctor McCoy, and Lieutenant Chekov lead a landing party to Settlement City on the surface of Omicron to hand deliver the rare resource directly to the Federation scientists at Galbraith Station in hopes of synthesizing a cure — or even a treatment.

Cyclocross season has ended and Greg Lestrade and Mycroft Holmes are moving on to road racing.
During 'cross season, they became friends, fell in love, became a couple, and broke up when Greg discovered his ex-girlfriend was pregnant. A devastated Mycroft was then disowned, abandoned by the family that had always supported his racing when Mummy discovered his homosexuality.
Alone, Mycroft struggles to rebuild his life. He signs on with a World Tour cycling team — Amstel, the same team for which Greg Lestrade rides. Leo knew he should turn around and go back to the hotel, should just leave and go find Joce and make her stop talking about those damn centrepieces, but something was pulling him further down the street. Every time he thought about going back, a shudder passed through him and he turned his attention towards the windows, noting how some had the glass turned fully opaque, the red of the lights glowing through the glass and hiding the scenes beyond.
