Summary
They find him in a shredded fisherman’s net, barely staying afloat amongst the waves. His limbs were tangled so tight it looked like the circulation was beginning to be cut off, the rope around his throat constricted so much that the poor thing couldn’t do more than twitch without risking a crushed windpipe. When they first pulled him out of the ocean, his eyes were wide and wild, serrated teeth bared in defense, uncomprehending of his rescuers. The speed at which he grew docile and limp once hauled onto the deck, gaze trained unseeing directly in front of him, was the first time Jay had the gut feeling something here was wrong.
