Summary
Emmy was taken by emerald, and glib couldn’t accept that. After weeks of long meetings with emerald, he was allowed to meet Emmy. The kid was in a cell like room, with all the basic Emmy necessities. When glib first walked in, they threw themselves at his neck, crying, about how they were scared he would forget about them. Glib reassured them that he made a deal with emerald, and no such thing would happen. What emerald failed to mention is that Emmy wasn’t kept in there just for the sake of being contained.

Summary
The general stuff. Everyone is human, Mercury is disabled, Canyon lost an eye, Glib is trans, SG is genderfluid, has hearing loss, due to which they sometimes sign language they have created with the rest of the crew. (Sg is not mentioned all that much, the sign language usage is not shown)
This is not a modern fic, it's vaguely old times. There's a little bit of magic in the world, but not fantasy races. More of expanded lore of sea beasts and monsters. The ship can sail itself, but only a little, so the smaller crew can still use it and be needed.
It has more of the vibe of the movie Sea Beasts (which i love) but instead it's much darker and mainly focused on the struggles of our crew.
Also the fic starts with most of mercury's crew being slaughtered by a sea kraken, we only see the aftermath and how the party deals with it, but there are short descriptions of what happens. Glib also gets hurt and bleeds, so look out for thatSeries

It was well known among all of the sublime union, that if you go through a binding ritual a string tied to your neck will be revealed. The string will lead you to your soulmate. Someone who will stand by your side, hold you up and allow you to prosper. Most people see it as a romantic connection, but Eric has seen soulmates who were just friends, bonded and mutually benefitting each other. He didn’t much care for the whole ritual. Why would he? Only two men he ever fancied didn’t care for it either, even more so, they were confirmed to already have soulmates...Who remain a secret. Eric has spent countless sleepless nights thinking about who the two might be destined for. But, that all ended half a year ago, when after the business venture they all joined a mutually beneficial deal. He was too busy to think about the soulmates bullshit...But now, that things have slowed down, he finally decided to go through with the ritual himself.
