    In most universes, Luke’s snow speeder is shot down during the battle of Hoth.

    A different speeder makes a kamikazee attack against the walker of General Veers.

    Veers survives (sometimes down a limb or two) to become the Hero of Hoth.

    (Or the Butcher, if you ask the rebels.)

    In this one, Luke’s snowpeeder doesn’t go down.

    Instead, in a shot only a Force user could make, he kills General Veers.

    Or:

    The specter takes its clearest form yet outside the cave where Yoda has sent him to perform his trial. The ghost stands at parade rest to the left of the cave entrance.

    And then Luke looks at him and realizes he knows that face. He’s seen a younger version of it give him a similar blank expression from across a rebel mess table.

    The ghost is Maximilian Veers.

    Good balance of emotional appeal and character exploration with a bit of horror thrown into the spin. This is a heavier fic for sure due to the subject nature but a very enjoyable read! I'd recommend it to anyone in the Imperial fandom as well as other SW fans.

    “We just got a report in from the Steel Talon, and there’s been a bit of a delay in the planetside team’s communication,” Piett begins, noting that Jerjerrod has clasped his hands together tightly in what he knows is an attempt to resist fidgeting.

    “The Chimaera is on it and we should hear back soon,” he adds, knowing Jerjerrod will not want any details to be shared in public, lest he loses his self control.

    Motti and his team go missing on their planetside mission and Jerjerrod is handling it very well. Another bit of helpless fluff in my friendship series.

    Very sweet Veers/Piett content with a side of Jerjerrod being Jerjerrod.
