"Don't apologize. I'd do it again a million times."

The words fall out of Laudna's mouth almost without a thought, and frankly, they're fucking stupid words. But still, Laudna says them with a smile, albeit an uneasy one, and reaches for Imogen's hand as they come out.
Imogen slowly lifts her eyes towards Laudna, tilting her head a bit. "What?"

Summary
After a long moment that feels like hours, Imogen’s arms wrap around Laudna’s body and Laudna feels that warmth envelop her once again. The rest of the world falls away until it’s only her and Imogen as she buries her head in that beautiful purple hair, taking in Imogen’s scent. Not even Delilah can reach her here. Not in this ethereal place only she and Imogen can access, not when it’s warm enough that the ice of Delilah’s presence melts away.

There’s something about holding Laudna up here on this roof—the exact same way she did to protect her from Fearne’s shard, except this time the damage is already done—that feels just as sweet as it did before, but far less satisfying, if she’s being honest. No one else is around, this time, because the threat is inside of Laudna, not behind her, and Imogen’s not even completely sure what this embrace is for.

Summary
In an act of pride and foolishness, Lilith falls right into her old enemy's wicked plans and pays for it by wrecking the life of the one she loved most. Eda, none the wiser, has no idea why she suddenly tires so easily, or why her magic is weakened, or most of all, why she transforms into the strange owl beast, nor does she know how to control it and get her suddenly screwed up life back to normal. All the while, the sisters grow apart.
I usually don't like writing fics that I know will most likely be superceded by canon explanations, and didn't even plan on this becoming a series, but screw it, here we are.

It wasn’t that Arlo had been disappointed, initially, when Auggie had appeared with a request for a bath.
Not really. In fact Auggie having the courage and vulnerability to show up at her room and request to bathe there made something inside her chest creak open a little. Much like it had when he’d introduced himself with a nervous loosening of his smudged collar. Or when he’d looked at her with open awe in his eyes when she’d said he’d done well, their first assignment.
Or when he’d tried, admirably, to step in when she was being unceremoniously removed from the art gallery.
In fact, if she didn’t recognise exactly what she was feeling, she’d be quite concerned she had an unfortunate heart ailment.

“Shall we get you to bed?” Laudna asks softly.
Imogen almost shakes her head but then thinks better of it as she waits out a wave of dizziness. “No,” she mutters regardless, “I’m alright. Better if we…” Fuzzy edges, that ringing, the migraine— “all stick… together.”
Now Laudna cups her cheek and Imogen’s eyelids droop closed as the temperature soothes her hot skin. “If you’re not feeling well, you shouldn’t push yourself.”
“S’just… a headache,” Imogen manages. “It’ll pass.”
