Summary
Vash had mostly kept to himself over the centuries, to avoid the risk of being discovered as an alien living among humans.
That had worked, right up until his two coworkers, Meryl and Milly, had convinced him to attend a particular club.

Summary
His flesh hand drifted over to his left rib cage, tracing over mottled flesh where a soulmark used to be. The area was so marred by scars that the feather-like mark wouldn’t be recognizable even if it were still there. But that mark had faded long ago. What were a few scars over an empty patch of skin?

Vash wasn’t aware he was staring until the priest looked at him and smirked. “Am I that nice to look at, Blondie?”
“Oh, um sorry! I didn’t mean to be rude!” Vash felt his face reddening. “I just thought it was awfully kind of you to spare a prayer for those bandits. Most people never try to talk things out these days.”
“And is that what you were doing?” The priest kicked off of the wall, leaning towards him. “Trying to talk things out with lawless criminals?”
Vash smiled awkwardly. “Yeah… I just thought I’d give them the chance to make things right, you know?”
“Then perhaps it’s fate that we ran into each other,” the priest chuckled. Vash was all too aware of the way his chest shook as he did (why was his shirt unbuttoned so far down? Is that normal for priests these days?). “The name is Wolfwood. Nicholas D. Wolfwood. And you, Needle Noggin?”Bookmarked by Pear_hater

Summary
Vash shoots him a threadbare smile regardless before he turns and starts to unbutton his coat. Wolfwood takes that as his cue to look away and give the man some damn privacy, though from his position, he can hear Vash going through the motions of getting changed, and it does… give him some pause, he supposes.
“You don’t care that I can see you doing that?” Wolfwood can’t help asking.
“Nothing you haven’t seen before,” comes Vash’s tired response. “Would you rather I used the bathroom?”
“Doesn’t make a difference to me,” and it doesn’t, for the most part, but, “just would’ve figured you’d be more… I dunno, cautious about who you take your armour off around.”
Vash straightens up at that, sweatshirt balled up around his elbows. He smiles before he pulls it on over his head. “You’re not going to hurt me, Wolfwood.”
---
Vash and Wolfwood share a bed, which in itself isn’t so much of an issue as what it necessitates. Wolfwood doesn’t understand how Vash can be so carefree around a known killer.
