Summary
A bite is the fastest way to contract the GRIMM-K12 virus. You’re dead the moment you become infected. It attacks the immune system like an aggressive parasite, eating your mind until there’s nothing left but an empty shell for the virus to animate. There is no cure, and your body won’t rest until burned, shot in the head, or dismembered. But even then, the limbs still move. At least in a pile, they’re somewhat harmless.
Yang’s one of the lucky ones. She’s been prepared for situations like this.
What she isn't prepared for is finding an injured faunus woman in the back of a supermarket who turns out to be partially immune to the virus, and she needs Yang's help. They need each other to make it to Augustine - one of the last safe zones left on earth. Yang hopes to reunite with her missing younger sister there, and Blake hopes they can help her find a cure before it's too late.

It’s not normal.
Shades of gemstones fade into a rich lavender center like the way dew pools into the center of a leaf as the sun rises at dawn. The trails of their color leave bright streaks to their core, capturing the light of dawn like narrow sunbeams reaching through the trees. These eyes were not empty or void of purpose. They did not harbor bloodlust or intent to kill. These eyes were kind, heavy and bright – the kind that act as a window to one’s soul. She can’t help but stare. Blake straightens, letting her eyes scan her from top to bottom more for show than actual observation. “Someone who knows how to have a good time.”
Yang’s eyes glitter with attractive acknowledgement. “How insightful.” She replies.
Blake shrugs one shoulder gently. “What about me? What picks up on your radar?”
Yang lets her eyes linger longer this time on the skin she does have access to now that the topic’s been breached. Finally, she looks back to Blake’s amber gaze. “Someone I think is dangerously smart, has a great taste in humor and looks like she can use a friend.”
She scoffs. “And you think you’re the type of company I keep?”
“I could be. Not everyone laughs at my puns. There’s something to be explored there. Maybe we have more in common than you think. So how about it? Wanna be friends?”

Blake has a one night stand with a blonde stranger she meets at the bar after hitting writer's block and insists the next year they spend together totally isn't dating.
