Summary
The cops went over to Sunny’s home next. They didn’t permit anyone to follow them, but they all did anyway. Sunny was declared DOA—just like Basil had been. The cause of death for both of them was the same: blood loss from self-inflicted wounds.
...
Hero jolted awake, a strange feeling overtaking him. He wondered what time it was. He shifted, about to sit up, and it was then that he realized he was lying on the floor. He sat up, confused, and looked around.
It did not help. In fact, it made it worse. So, so much worse.
He was sitting on the floor of Basil’s living room. Aubrey was sleeping on the couch behind him. Kel and Sunny were asleep on either side of him.
What the hell?
Or, Hero gets stuck in a time loop, right before Basil and Sunny both end their own lives.

Summary

The burden of that knowledge, as heavy as it proves to be, is manageable. At least, until he befriends a boy named Basil with but a few years left to live. From then on, a third absolute joins the fray — an utmost confidence that no matter what, Sunny will change fate.
