Summary
Flint The Cat - mouser on the Ranger and apparently the new love of Anne Bonny's life - needs a safe place to recover from an injury. And Jack just happens to know a very nice Puritan widow who'd be happy to take care of him.
Except, as it turns out, Miranda Barlow already has one grumpy ginger creature in her life. And he doesn't want to share.

Summary
James is quite prepared to be an outcast in this place - Thomas is the only thing he needs. Luckily for his sake, things don't quite work out how he expects them to.
OR: An entirely unrequested piece of self-indulgent crack, in which James is continuously shocked that people like him.

Summary
“Flint! Get out here!”
He bangs on the door with his fist a few times for good measure. He does it extra loud just to make it clear he isn’t knocking. Charles Vane is not a man who knocks on fucking doors. And he definitely doesn’t knock on Flint’s door.
“If you’re looking for James, he isn’t here.”
Vane whips around with a hand on his flintlock, but keeps the weapon holstered in his belt. A dark-haired woman is regarding him steadily from the side of the porch. He recognises her vaguely, having seen her in town a few times.
“You’re Flint’s woman.”
She arches a shapely eyebrow. “Am I indeed? I suppose that is technically an improvement on Flint’s witch.”
A.K.A. the pre-canon AU fic where Thomas was on the Maria Eleyne, Flint is semi-retired, and Miranda introduces Charles Vane to the mortifying ideal of Having Nice Things (including sex).

Summary
He is prepared.
The fields are full of men, not one of them familiar. He can’t be bothered asking where they’re taking him. To the barracks, perhaps, or maybe they expect him to start working right away. He’s a slave now, after all, no matter how kindly Silver thinks these men will treat him. Once it might have bothered him - to die as someone’s property. It would have bothered Madi. Or Vane. Or even Rackham. But he is not them. And he is not James McGraw, the man that Thomas Hamilton once loved. He is Flint, he is a monster, the devil of the sea and he is staring…staring at a man with golden hair…
There are some things the heart cannot prepare for.

Summary
“I know you think I’ve lied to you. That this is all some - some trick that I’ve pulled out as a last resort. But I swear, I swear he is alive, James. I wouldn’t lie about this. You must know that.”
Silver’s staring at him now, his expression both earnest and determined. This was how he’d looked that day in the cage. When he’d convinced Flint not to throw his life away on some half-baked plan to help the crew escape from the Maroons. He wishes now he hadn’t changed his mind. That he’d gone ahead and died there, helping his men escape to freedom. Perhaps they’d be alive now. Perhaps Billy Bones would not have turned on them. Perhaps Eleanor Guthrie would still be breathing, and Vane, and Teach. Perhaps he was meant to die that day, and this - this future that he’s being dragged towards aboard this ship - this is his punishment for daring to outlive the fate life chose for him.
“It doesn’t matter.”
“What?” Silver asks, as though the words are an enigma.
“It does. Not. Matter.”

Summary
Rare were the nights when sleep came easily, even after a whole day of straining his body and his mind on missions, reports, combats.
Tonight, though, for some ignored reason, he felt sleepiness swaying at him while it was still dark, not past midnight.
He wakes up with a voice, saying one simple command.
A Ghost comes for answers.

His eyes were dark and unreadable: there was only a faint ring of blue around the pupils. He stared at Steve down the gun barrel and muttered: "Are you really my friend?"

Summary
"We’re alive in defiance of the law, now,” Natasha said bitterly.
“Well,” Steve said, and pushed his plate away. “We’ll just have to break in and get them.”
“Right, let’s take it from the top,” Natasha said wearily. “The Raft is a fully submersible supermax prison—“
“We can do it,” Steve said.

Summary
All right, so he's gone back in time somehow. Of course, he did. Why wouldn't he? Again, hysterical laughter escapes him, and people look over at him as if he's going mad. Maybe he is. What he no longer is, anyway, is Long John Silver. He's once again a nobody from nowhere, and what's more, he's lost his fucking mind.

Summary
When Steve returns to his Brooklyn apartment as suddenly as he’d disappeared from it, all he can do is stare and blink into the middle distance for a while, his lips still tingling with the warm buzz of kissing Bucky Barnes, heat in his cheeks still blazing.
I was just in another timeline, Steve thinks to himself, as his knees give out and he sits with a plop on his bed. Or another universe? He’s still not entirely sure what the appropriate terminology is. Or maybe he hadn’t actually visited another timeline/universe and he hadn’t seen a bunch of alternate versions of himself, all of them significantly more swole than he is, even the lady version. Maybe it had all just been a really vivid dream. Or maybe he’s had a psychotic break. Maybe there’s a gas leak in the apartment. That happens, right?
Or maybe he really did meet the possible love of his life in another universe. Now it's time for Steve to find him in this one.
[This is a side story to if I'm gonna get back to you someday, following the modern AU, non-serum version of Steve from the clusterfuck of Steves. It might not make much sense without having read that one first.]
