Hua Cheng looked at the cat for a long moment, saying nothing. His facial expressions didn't change, either. There was no excitement for the cat, no admittance of just how cute he was. Hua Cheng barely even paid attention to him. Instead, he got to his feet and carefully leaned in to kiss Xie Lian, "Do you need help bringing things inside?"
"Oh, no, that's okay! If you just watch him, I'll bring it inside," Xie Lian kissed Hua Cheng's cheek and thrust the kitten into Hua Cheng's arms.
If he had looked small in Xie Lian's arms, he seemed absolutely tiny in Hua Cheng's. While he'd sat still for Xie Lian, he pawed at Hua Cheng's chest, looking up at him and letting out a feeble meow. Xie Lian thought his heart might burst from the sight of it. Hua Cheng looked so hesitant, completely frozen in place as he stared at the cat in his arms.When he looked up to see Xie Lian still watching them, Hua Cheng pouted, "Gege, hurry."
