Summary
The furry creature, hissing and spitting something violent, hunched over the turtles protectively and puffed its fur desperately as it tried to scare the intruders away.
It took a second for Bruce to gain his bearings before he grabbed the crook of Robin’s arm and dragged him slightly behind his own armoured suit. Bruce figured cornering the rat would do nothing but stress them all out but the smallest turtle made another feeble cry and he couldn't help as his heart twisted. It was a baby, not just some juvenile animal, it was a helpless baby and they couldn't just leave them all down in a damp sewer tunnel to get sick and die.
"Batman?" Robin's eyes were turned on him with a desperate kind of questioning, mouth set in a sad line.
