Izuku Midoriya has been beaten down, abused, and bent to his limit, and after a traumatic injury almost breaks him, Izuku finds the resolve he needs to challenge the world that tried to destroy him. Using his knowledge of invention passed down to him from his father, Izuku decides to force the world to see his worth. To show them that you don't need a quirk to be worth it in this world.
Unfortunately, when you challenge the world, the world tends to fight back...

“Does he have a name?” Phil asked quietly as he kneeled and Sam hummed.
“Not any he responds to yet. It’s only been a few months since we picked him up, but we’ve been working on it, believe me.” The only thing filling the silence was a low murmur coming from deep within the human’s chest.
“Are they usually this affectionate?” Phil had started petting the human with both hands, cane set on the floor to the side.
“He was separated from his mother too early. Poaching is a big problem when it comes to humans, either for unethical testing or zoos.”
“We thought about rehabilitation and release, but he’s been raised in captivity,” Sam added, leaning against the wall. “He wouldn’t survive in the wild.”
“He was violent at first, understandably, but he’s since calmed down. As far as I’m aware though, this is the most tender he’s been since we picked him up. Maybe he can tell… Well…” Puffy flushed, looking away.

Summary
About a week after that, All Might asked Izuku if he was aiming for the hero course at UA. The question was so sudden that Izuku nearly dropped a microwave on his toes.
The truth was, if All Might had asked him that a week ago, there would have only been one possible answer to that question. All Might had gone to UA, UA was the best, so Izuku was going to go there too, if he could. But things were a little different, now that he was going to receive All Might’s Quirk.
“No,” he said, decisively.
All Might looked caught off guard, which was a very rare expression on him. “No?” he echoed, like he couldn’t believe it.
A laugh bubbled out of Izuku’s throat. He honestly couldn’t believe it either. “No,” he repeated.

Ah… just said something I should have a long time ago, Songbird,” Theo said with a melancholic smile. “Sometimes the hardest thing to say is a simple ‘I love you.’” Wilbur blinked.
“Why would that be hard?” he asked. “I love you and I love your smile and I love your food and I love that you stayed up late to make quilts for us. I love the home you’ve made here. I love that you make me feel safe and I love the way you see me. I love the way the sunlight glistens in your hair. You mean the world to me, big brother, and your mere presence fills my life with immeasurable joy.” Theo blinked at him, stunned at the outpouring of affection. Techno hummed, ears picking up and tail swaying. Was it… really that easy?
“You… you’ve only known me for two weeks! How… how could you…” Theo sputtered, coming back to reality. Wilbur shrugged with a smile.
“You’re easy to love, Theo,” he answered.
