Bruce looked up from the chess game he’d been winning, delighted to see John’s mischievous smile across from him.
“That’s funny. considering I only met her one time.” Bruce replied, as he took out John’s bishop with his rook, “And we only exchanged pleasantries.”John clicked his tongue at the fallen chess piece. “Yeah well… I talk about you in session.” He explained as he glared at the board game.
“Uh.” Bruce found himself staring.

Over the past year Bruce had become familiar with The Board of Supervisors in charge of Arkham’s operations. Funding the renovations gave him a generous amount of influence and he was only slightly ashamed to admit he’d become a little obsessed - and that obsession was definitely personal. Floors were retiled, light fixtures were replaced, every jail cell was converted into a bedroom with a plush rug. The improved living conditions helped in collective health across patients, but Bruce was more concerned with how they could support John’s steady recovery.
Though in confession, Bruce knew he should never admit to such control issues outloud. He hasn’t even admitted them to himself.

It shouldn’t have hurt, he should be used to people flicking off his slime, Quackity on more than one occasion had physically recoiled away from him when he got too close. It should’ve been fine, but it wasn’t and maybe it hurt him more than he wanted to admit.

Let's give Slime crippling self-esteem issues because I noticed that on the dsmp, players were less than pleased about his slimey body. Now he's carrying those fears over to Quesadilla Island and doesn't see a problem with hiding his natural form.
