When Ed was 6 he became the sole caretaker of his baby brother. He had become the man of the forever empty house.
At 13, Ed pretends not to notice the way the other soldiers can’t always meet his eyes.
But Ed will do this for his brother, anything for his baby brother.

Summary
Todoroki was fine. He could handle this. What was one week back at that hell house? Leaving UA for a weeklong break shouldn’t scare him this much, but coming from the warm support of the dorms... he was just starting to get hopeful.
Lucky for him, he’s got the teachers and students of UA making sure nothing happens, except it’s not that simple.
Or: After running away from his father’s house and staying with friends, Todoroki winds up in the foster care system. There he learns a lot more about the society that allowed his abuse while finding unexpected allies. In the meantime Aizawa scrambles to find a way to foster Todoroki and fully take him under his wing. (Takes place after the Kamino ward battle and training camp.)
