Jason is about two hours away from his heat. He’d gambled on this trip being straightforward and distraction-free. He’d gambled on not really having access to Dick, on not having to confront the mess of feelings he’d been accumulating for the man for the past several years. He’s been completely caught off guard by the sight of Dick, t-shirt riding up his stomach to show just a hint of hip bone.

Summary

Jason"s never really thought of himself as anything special. He"s one soldier among thousands, and he"s never been one of the rank-climbing sons of noble families, looking to earn honor and as high a position as possible to serve their country. He"s just him; street-born and raised.
When the kingdom begins ceremonies to find a shadow for the prince, Jason doesn"t expect to get that far. He certainly doesn"t expect to become one of the chosen finalists, or to actually meet the about-to-be-crowned prince face to face. It"s just a meeting though. He"d never actually be chosen for such a prestigious position, right?
