Izzy blinks, and Stede can practically see the gears turning in his head. “You—wait, what?”
Before Stede can respond, Ed’s calling out from the other room. “Iz, love,” Ed says. “Is that Stede you’re talking with?”
“No, it’s a different man who’s come over to fuck you,” Izzy calls back. “Yes, it’s Bonnet.” Stede’s a bit taken aback by his response, but Ed’s laughter rings out sweet and clear, and Izzy shoots a wry grin in Stede’s direction.

“You’re getting dirt on me,” Stede says weakly.
“It was already on you.”
“Well…” Izzy raises an eyebrow and Stede withers a little. “You’re right, that’s true.”
Izzy picks up the brush again and pointedly sweeps another little puff of dust onto Stede’s lap.
“Yes, alright. Go on.”
“Aren’t you going to thank him for pointing that out, mate?” Ed calls from across the room. “You’d keep walking around with a dirty belt elsewise.”
“I–” Stede looks over at Ed, then back down. “I should, yes. Thank you, Izzy.”
“Good,” Izzy says, halfway to a purr, and something about it makes Stede’s back straighten a little more, makes his fingertips press into the arms of the chair.Izzy blacks Stede's boots. Stede learns a thing or two.

Summary
On the one-month anniversary of whatever the fuck they’d now become, Stede had Buttons track down a luxury vessel, ordered Jim to hold their captain at knife-point, and politely asked Wee John to move his oversized bed into their quarters. Izzy oversaw Black Pete’s installation of the new addition while Ed made fun of Stede’s process—Is it really a gift if everyone else is doing the work, mate? The end result was the same though. After a day’s hard labor and some lighthearted squabbling, they finally had a bed big enough for three.
