Ghost has tried time and time again to defeat the Nightmare King and complete the Ritual. Time and time again, they have failed. If they were truly pure, this would not be an issue, and they'd simply continue to try until they succeeded. They're not, however, and their frustration is very real. The Great Nailsage and his students have been formally requested to assist in clearing out the horde of Infected civilians from a quarantined section of the City of Tears, years before the Sealing of the Hollow Knight. All seems to be going well, but even the most skilled of fighters aren't impervious to attack. Sly just didn't expect to be so debilitated by a single injury, nor for one of his students to be so insistent on getting him to rest, whatever it took.

Summary
It's not often Mothiva gets to spend time alone with Zasp. It's even less often that she gets time to enjoy it. Regardless of the difficulty, every few months, she takes the time to simply... relax. Away from the prying eyes of the public, they can indulge in a personal ritual - a treat, just for them, in the little time they have to be alone. To hold each other, to bask in each other's company... and to have a simple dinner date, just the two of them.
This date, of course, promises to be special.
