Summary
Forced to make a choice, Wei Wuxian questioned whether his side was the right one. Wondered whether the people he chose to protect and fight among would do the same. With hope a vanishing thought, Wei Wuxian no longer fought against the shackles that caged him to words he knew they claimed him to be.
They named him selfish. So he accepted their truth, no longer blindly reaching out his hand for them to grab and instead, reaching out to the side that they named alike to who he'd become.
Making a choice for himself, he fell to the side of the side of a man whose very hand had singlehandedly led to the demise of balance that constantly echoed in his ear by their honey-coated preaches that held no promise of anything better.

Where Wei Wuxian questions himself and the side he fights for during the Sungshot Campaign and seeks protection from Wen Ruohan, the one person deemed merciless, and in return, is offered world domination at his hands while he sips on a bottomless glass of emperors wine.
