Summary

Maybe it would be enough to have that again. There's a new invention from the Yae Publishing House that turns a user's dreams into light novel stories. Kaveh has the (un)fortunate pleasure of being one of its first users.

Summary
Kaveh wakes to the dipping of his mattress.
He’s barely asleep, so it doesn’t take long for him to gather what is happening. A body, warm and mostly naked, presses up against his back, an arm wrapping around his waist.
“Mm, Haitham?” Kaveh asks, turning his head. It’s a futile effort, since he can’t really see anything with how dark it is outside. For a moment, Alhaitham doesn’t answer him. Just slides his hand underneath Kaveh’s shirt, pushing it up so that he can run his fingers over Kaveh’s bare stomach. “What are you doing?”
“Want you,” Alhaitham answers, short and to the point.
Kaveh and Alhaitham, despite their otherwise tumultous relationship, indulge in some midnight cravings.

Summary
“Alhaitham-”
“Leave it.” Harsh words were followed by an even harsher cough. Petals, bloody, sopping wet and weeping, were trying to break free. “Don't concern yourself with this.”
“Why didn't you get the surgery?” Kaveh exclaimed, his voice rising with emotion. His hands were balled into fists by his side.
A sound escaped his lips, a mix between a cough and a scoff.
“Did something go wrong, were there any complications? You must’ve had a reason aside from your infuriating bullheadedness.”
“I didn't get it because I refused to,” Alhaitham confessed calmly.
“You're still not over-”
“How could I be?”
Kaveh reached for Alhaitham's hand, but he pulled it away before he could reach it.
“Then why did you sleep with me?! Answer me, Alhaitham!”Alhaitham suffers from Hanahhaki Disease and Kaveh knows. What Kaveh doesn't know however, is the fact that Alhaitham has lied about having gotten the surgery for it.

Summary
Home. Could he really call Sumeru that anymore? And, if he followed that thought to its logical conclusion, where would home be if it wasn’t there? A troubling thought, indeed.
Or, Kaveh transfers to Fontaine to finish his degree and he writes to Alhaitham. Letters begin to come less frequently until one day, Kaveh returns to Sumeru and is forced to face the reality of what had always been there between him and Alhaitham.
