Summary
The silence stretches on, a thread pulled into fraying with its fibers scarcely clinging together. If Mu Qing listens carefully, he can almost hear the stretch as those fibers scream in agony, wishing only to be torn completely.
Free from its torment, the pitiful existence it has been reduced to.
Free from its memories of what once was, of decayed potential futures.
A frayed thread aching to be severed, knowing that the strands it has lost will never return, and it will never go back to how it once was— vibrant, strong…
Intact.
Mu Qing didn’t realize… didn’t see how bad it had become. Preoccupied with the mess of fibers left behind for him to clean up, he didn’t think to look at the thread that shed them and how little of it was left.
He stands frozen in space, remembering the vitality of the thread as it once was, blind to how it had already lost its strength.
Minutely, Feng Xin’s back begins to tremble. His shoulders shudder in broken, fractured remnants of breath. What remains of the thread— Mu Qing witnesses the snap with a soft, shaken sob.
“Mu Qing,” Feng Xin’s voice trembles, hushed, “Just… kick me out. Let me freeze to death.” -

Summary
It’s been a month or so since Mu Qing first brandished his new watch, and Feng Xin has never seen him take it off. He probably even showers with it on. A single slim band around his delicate wrist tells Feng Xin exactly how elevated and escalated Mu Qing truly is beneath that frosty condescension —no matter the words that come out of his mouth saying otherwise— assuming that Feng Xin bothers to peek at it, of course.
A repeatedly wasted opportunity.
Frankly, Feng Xin never paid enough attention to the stupid watch to notice. The only time he allows himself to look at Mu Qing’s stupidly pretty hands is when he’s taking them to the face. Not exactly the best time to check out someone’s watch.
But that’s all in the past; it doesn’t matter.
What matters is the here and now. -

Summary
A failed mission leaves Mu Qing and Feng Xin trapped in a freezing cavern isolated deep in the mountains of a demon's lair. Severely injured, strength and warmth bleeds from Feng Xin steadily, leaving Mu Qing to take its place.
Mu Qing, who always craved this friendship, found that once he achieved it, that friendship was not enough. The ache only burrowed deeper, settling into the marrow of his bones and turning them weak, weaker than the half-dead god he's known for centuries bleeding his warmth into the frigid snow.

Summary

It happens too fast. One moment Feng Xin has Mu Qing's wrists pinned to the column, and the next, Mu Qing has slipped his wrists free, bunched his fists into Feng Xin's robes, and slotted a muscled thigh between Feng Xin's legs. Feng Xin freezes, face close enough to count each one of Mu Qing's eyelashes. Blood rushes south. Some little voice in the back of his head quips that he's going to develop a specific interest in Mu Qing's thighs if this keeps happening. A second little voice assures him he already has.Feng Xin ignores all of that, just as he does every time, and especially ignores how Mu Qing's tongue wets his lips before he speaks.
"Hm? I thought you would be bigger than that." Mu Qing shifts his thigh slightly, subtle, but the pebble tossed into Feng Xin's pond creates waves instead of ripples. "Just this? The fabled, mighty tool of Ju Yang…." Mu Qing leans closer, his breath teasing Feng Xin's lips as he speaks. "...Turns out to be nothing more than a dull knife in a sword's sheath."

Summary
