Freddie wrapped his arms around Roger and hid his face against his chest. They were so quiet that they couldn’t hear anything but the rustling of the corn leaves, but then there was a thump and sccccc sound.
Freddie shivered, but Roger tightened his arms around him. They were as still as the corn itself, and thankfully, the monster passed right by them.
“C’mon, we’ll go in the opposite direction,” Roger whispered.
“W-What are we gonna do?” Freddie asked.
“We’re gonna find Brian and John and get the hell out of here!” Roger led the way, further and deeper into the labyrinth.
At first, they were walking slowly, careful not to make a sound, but a loud roar startled both of them.
“Run!” Roger yelled.
The night was so dark, that Freddie could barely see, and the corn maze was so narrow, that he kept brushing against the corn. Freddie couldn’t tell what was him, Roger, or the being chasing them. His heart was pounding, and he couldn’t catch his breath… -
