Summary
There comes a time when every young Prince must find a wife and settle down. This is the opinion of his parents at least, even though it is entirely not in Sesshōmaru's plans for himself. So when they give him an ultimatum: a fortnight or a betrothal to the Princess Abi, Sesshōmaru knows what he must do. He finds himself the perfect fiancée, one who will make his parents regret ever forcing him to marry in the first place, and he knows just where to look: a witch thought not only to raise the dead, but with a wit and mouth so sharp it can slice through any foolhardy enough to cross it. So Sesshōmaru makes his plans, and the witch Kagura agrees to this farce, for the right price. But instead of the perfect disaster of their own making, the prince and the witch find something else entirely unexpected.

Summary
A grievous injustice occurred the day that Kikyō sealed Inuyasha into that tree, accusing of a crime he did not commit. But even when the truth comes to light, Kikyō finds she is not able to free the hanyō. So Kikyō seals her soul in a mahogany dog, to wait for the one who is worthy, to free Inuyasha. When Kagome happens upon the carved Akita with the bellflower collar at her late father’s shrine, her life takes a turn for the better, and sets her on the path toward exoneration: of the sleeping hanyō, of the fallen miko, and finally, of herself.
